*WIP* - Star Citizen experience overhaul & new core features
This is an early work-in-progress preview of the new Star Citizen experience we are creating for GameGlass. We will be looking for feedback early and often as we strive to create the best product possible. Please share your thoughts with us on this post!
New Core Feature - Panels
As we built our Shards for SC, we were focusing on specific gameplay mechanics and crafting experiences for each of them. We knew this approach was not scalable and we wanted to come up with a better way of crafting high-quality experiences at a quicker clip.
Panels will function similarly to widgets on your phone. They will be responsive, adaptable, scalable, and configurable.
On tablets, instead of one panel there will be 3 panels.
Most importantly - Panels can be easily swapped on your device without the need to go back to the Forge for configuration
New Core Feature - Boot Animations
Boot animations add a “wow” factor to your shards. Engage them by pressing a button, or have them load automatically when loading a Shard on your device. For now, we are focusing on crafting high-quality manufacturer-specific animations for Star Citizen, but we plan on adapting this feature to support any game.
New Core Feature - Theme Swapping
Unique to Star Citizen for the moment, theme swapping enables you to change your ship manufacturer theme on the fly, right from your device without any configuration headaches.
On Tablet too of course!

I love this. However, can we please consider copy & paste between shards in the forge? Hear me out… this update has a lot of personalization, especially between changing the theme to match the ships we fly. So being able to make custom shards that allow us to truly test this would be fantastic, and has some limitations between being able to bring theme and setup of one shard to the other.

Looks good. Would it be possible to have a horizontal version, either separate or via a screen rotation option?

I like the current setup where there are buttons for each shard used to swap quickly between the different shards. Having to click on a button, then swipe through each until I reach the shard desired, will cause unnecessary delays when requiring a swift response. Imagine mining in the outer belts of pyro only to have a bogy pop up and start shooting at you, but now you need to press a button, then swipe through 5 shards until you get to the shard you need… by the time you get what you need you are already dead. Thanks for taking this quick shard swap into consideration.
